Mila Gottesman teaches piano privately to both children and adults in her Westport studio.

Goals of lessons for young beginners include fostering music appreciation, singing, ear training, improvisation, music expression through movements, and an understanding of musical concepts. Methods of teaching young children include the Dalcroze Eurhythmics which is an approach that connects music, movement, and the mind. It promotes children’s musical expression through learning rhythm and structure by listening to music and expressing themselves through improvised movement.

For more advanced students, lessons focus on musical theory, solfege and offered performance opportunities such as competitions, festivals and recitals.
